Maruti Suzuki India Limited (MSIL) registered total sales of 1,89,665 units in September 2025 against 1,84,727 units in the same month last year, reflecting a 2.7% YoY growth. In the domestic market, the company retailed 1,32,820 units, declined by 8.4% from 1,44,962 units sold in September 2024. During the first eight days of Navratri festive season, Maruti Suzuki delivered a record-high 1,65,000 units, highlighting the positive impact of the recent GST price cuts.

The carmaker sold 48,695 units of the UVs (utility vehicles) including Fronx, Brezza, Victoris, Grand Vitara, Jimny, Ertiga, XL6 and Invicto. A total of 74,090 units of its mini and compact cars were sold last month, while 2,891 units were retailed in the light commercial vehicle segment.

Exports reached an all-time monthly high of 42,204 units, up from 27,728 units in September 2024 and 36,538 units in August 2025. These figures show the brand’s strong focus on overseas markets.

Maruti Suzuki plans to expand its SUV model lineup with three major launches – the e Vitara electric SUV, the Fronx strong hybrid and a premium three-row SUV. The Maruti e Vitara will come with the 49kWh and 61kWh battery packs, and offer a claimed MIDC range of over 500km. Some of its key highlights including Level-2 ADAS, ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, powered driver’s seat, reclining and split rear seats and more.

The Maruti Fronx will be the brand’s first model to feature a new cost-effective strong hybrid powertrain, developed in-house for mass-market offerings. The carmaker is likely to hybridize its 1.2L, 3-cylinder Z-Series petrol engine.

An all-new Maruti premium SUV, measuring over 4.5 metres in length, is also under the development. It’s likely to be based on the Grand Vitara, sharing platform, powertrains and features. Once launched, the new 7-seater SUV will take directly on the Hyundai Alcazar, Mahindra XUV700 and Tata Safari.
