The Rs 6.29 lakh starting price of the Renault Kiger is just Rs 14,000 more than the outgoing compact SUV’s 6.15 lakh tag. Considering the previous top-spec Kiger RXZ CVT variant was priced at Rs 11.23 lakh, the new Emotion CVT variant costs Rs 6,000 more. For the introductory period, the mid-spec Techno CVT and the top-spec Emotion turbo-manual are priced at Rs 9.99 lakh.
As before, the Kiger continues to be offered with the same four powertrain options. The 72hp, 1.0-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine gets 5-speed manual and 5-speed AMT options, while the 100hp, 1.0-litre turbo-petrol unit has CVT and 5-speed manual gearbox options. It should be noted that Renault has yet to reveal prices for the Kiger NA AMT variants.
Along with the new green paint, fresh graphics on the C-pillar and a smoked-out reverse light section previously seen in the teaser, the refreshed Kiger gets a new front and rear bumper designs with a silver surround, the new Renault logo on the nose, revised headlight and fog light clusters, new 16-inch dual-tone annoys and another new yellow finish. The roof, A-, B- and C-pillars on the top-spec variant get a dual-tone finish as an optional extra. The roof rails are functional and can take up to 50kg of weight.
The interior has more or less the same layout, but the dashboard gets a new black and light grey dash combination. Further, all variants of the Kiger now get 6 airbags as standard, along with ESP, a tyre pressure monitor and hill start assist. Feature highlights on range-topper include ventilated front seats, 360-deg camera, auto lights and wipers, wireless charger and an 8-inch infotainment touchscreen.
