Skoda Kushaq Facelift Version Spied Testing Expectation from the Buyer

The Skoda Auto Volkswagen India Pvt Ltd (SAVWIPL) has established a robust portfolio in India as part of the company’s INDIA 2.0 strategy, under which two segment SUVs – Skoda Kushaq and Volkswagen Taigun – have undergone facelifts. As suggested by the spy shots of the test mules, both vehicles will boast of multiple upgrades.

The camouflage seen on these test mules of the vehicle suggests Skoda is likely to confine design changes to the front and rear while still retaining the side profile. We can notice the new alloy wheel design coming with a Gunmetal Grey shade. Also visible are the red-painted brake calipers only at the front, but the rear still has the old drum brakes.

Even though the Skoda Kushaq facelift’s front fascia can’t be accessed yet, these spy shots show an updated rear design. One can notice a revised new rear bumper for a sportier outlook and a more dominant appeal to the automobile enthusiasts. Apart from which, new tail lights connected in design and an LED light bar or Black plague with SKODA lettering are also anticipated.

“At the front, we can see a hint of the same conventional lighting setup with headlight housing on top and fog lights immediately below. We can expect a redesigned front grille, potentially larger in size. There could be a new front bumper too,” the report further said.

Skoda Kushaq facelift could get an ADAS suite that has autonomous features, a 360-degree camera and panoramic sunroof, among other upgrades. What is expected to be carried over is the 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment screen, 8-inch virtual cockpit, front and rear armrest, rear AC vents, 6 airbags as standard and 5 Star GNCAP crash safety ratings.

When it comes to the SUV’s powertrains, the facelift is anticipated to carry over 1.0L 3-cyl Turbo Petrol (117 bhp, 178 Nm) and 1.5L 4-cyl Turbo Petrol (148 bhp, 250 Nm) engine options. Both will contain a 6-speed manual and an automatic option each (6TC and 7DCT). As of now, only the Kushaq and Taigun facelifts among SAVWIPL’s INDIA 2.0 vehicles have undergone spied testing. Automobile enthusiasts can expect their launch to take place during the festive season.
